PROJECT ORGANISATION

Bishman uses the project team approach on all major assignments, and selects key personnel to provide a support function to the project.

This team, comprised of highly experienced and skilled construction management staff. Purchasing and construction personnel, are responsible for co-ordinating and monitoring their areas of responsibility through the contract on-site project manager and his team.

This includes design checking, planning and programming, labour resource control, quality control checking and commissioning.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT

From the project's inception, the Contracts Manager, with the various members of the Project Team, assist with formulating the overall planning, co-ordination, control and execution of the project.

Overall contract management is divided into the following four areas:

SITE MANAGEMENT

The Contracts Manager in conjunction with Supervisors, control the Job Site activities, and are responsible for subcontractors, and the performance and execution of all works required for the project.

FIELD ENGINEERING

Field engineering services comprise the following functions:

  • Field engineering for design
  • Drawings and Specification
  • Quality Control
  • Commissioning

CONTRACT ADMINISTRATION

Contract administration comprises the following functions in support of Construction activities:

  • General administration, accounting, time keeping, payroll
  • Purchasing, transportation, warehousing, control and distribution of material, equipment and tools
  • Recruiting, employment and control of workforce
  • Project co-ordination with consulting engineers and the client
  • Implementation of safety and security programme

PROJECT MANAGEMENT AND COST CONTROL

Effective planning is the basic foundation of all work performed by Bishman. During the planning stage the Contracts Manager formulates the preliminary engineering concepts, reviews the scope of work, and develops equipment/material lists.

PROCUREMENT

In connection with the construction work, procurement procedures include a series of activities such as:

  • Selection of vendors
  • Data submittal to engineer for approval
  • Technical negotiations with engineer
  • Offer analysis
  • Ordering & expediting
  • Engineering co-ordination
  • Quality control inspection
  • Shipping & Customs clearance
  • Material management
